APCM – Sunday 14th April

Our APCM will be taking place on Sunday 14th April after our morning service. It’s a fantastic opportunity to hear about the journey that the church and PCC have been on over the past year, and to vote in key roles within our church, so it would great to see as many of you there as possible. In addition, this year there are a number of volunteer opportunities available, please prayerfully consider whether God is calling you to any of these spaces:

  • PCC member: there are 3 vacancies for PCC members – your role would be to join the PCC in discerning God’s purposes for our church family, making key decisions about the future of our church, how we use our finances responsibly, how we ensure that our church remains a safe place for all to worship, and how we can continue to grow in faith and discipleship as a worshipping family.
  • Churchwarden: there are 2 vacancies for churchwarden – your role would be to look after our church buildings, organise the hire of the church rooms, manage the keys and access to both buildings, ensure safety regulations are adhered to, and continue to improve the functionality and aesthetics of the spaces where we worship
  • Safeguarding officer: there is a vacancy for Parish Safeguarding Officer – this is a statutory role with two parts that could be fulfilled by one or two persons, firstly arranging DBS checks and safeguarding training for church volunteers and maintaining the church’s safeguarding policies, secondly offering a single point of contact for people to raise concerns and ensure that these are escalated appropriately and in accordance with the church’s safeguarding policy
  • Minster team rep: there is a vacancy for a lay representative on the minster team – your role would be to join the other minster team representatives across the four churches to discern God’s vision for the minster and plan and organise joint events
  • Deanery synod rep: there is a vacancy for a representative to join the deanery synod – your role would be to support the deanery synod in making decisions that affect churches across our region

If you are interested in any of these roles, you can find nomination forms on the notice board in the church community centre.
